book of love

I’ve always love this song especially after watching “Shall We Dance” however many years ago. I don’t know how I came across this song again but I found myself humming the tune in my head constantly this week. And it's perfect.... we've found our First Dance song!

nightmares

Weird dreams.... like dreaming that I'm currently 5 months pregnant and the baby is due in June giving me 4 months to the wedding day to lose the baby fat.

I need to get my wedding planning back on track!

girls in the wild

I have no plans for a hen's night at this point in time but this just seriously rock my socks off. It reminds me of my Girl Guide days at school - overnight camps and jamborees. Hard at work all day trying to earn our badges and up all night just chatting away and just having fun. Ahhh, the good ol' days. No wonder I love this idea on so many levels!

photojojo

Got more goodies from Photojojo land last weekend. I love that site! We used almost half of my instax mini supplies at the wedding and I've been wanting to top it up since the Aussie dollar is doing so well against the USD. I've also been eyeing the Fisheye Lens and the Dreamy Diana Lens since we've decided to not get any of the Lensbaby this time round. And a camera which I thought would be cool as a thank you present for a work colleague who's leaving. Maybe Photojojo sensed something because I got a $5 credit from them to use for that weekend. Awesome!!

it's that point

We've been in a panic mode the past week. I'm still not quite certain if it was justified but things are not looking good so far. As you've probably noticed, we've been cruising along the past few months secure in the knowledge that we've taken care of the most important bits of the wedding (or so we thought!). The venue and photographer confirmed.... we can take our time with the rest. Until we decided on a whim that we would like a videographer to film our day. So we found one that was awesome and as it turns out, they are now not available on our wedding day. That was when the panic attacks started.... and we realised, heck, there are still more vendors we need for the day! I came up with this list of people that we should be looking to book as soon as possible....

 - Celebrant
 - Wedding co-ordinator on the day
 - Makeup and hair artists
 - Cars

We're hoping to diy our invitations and flowers but is there anyone/anything else I'm missing???

jenny sun

As I looked through my email archive of our correspondence with my wedding photographer, I realised that Jenny Sun has been with us through our wedding planning journey right from the very start. From the time we thought we wanted a destination wedding to then deciding maybe we'd get married in Malaysia then to another destination wedding to where we stand today. I started blushingjoy in the middle of our wedding planning so this post is definitely way overdue.

Yup, and I emailed her right at the very start of it all. Before Ryan's proposal - I knew it was just a matter of time since we've already started talking about engagement rings. I remembered meeting Jenny at a coffeeshop in Chatswood, with Ryan, without a ring and thinking, how weird is she going to think of us - already planning a wedding before the proposal. And surprised at how Ryan was pretty cool with the whole thing too.

And I have to say I'm lucky because I have the most patient and understanding photographer in the world. I must be the most neurotic bride really... By the time she shoots my wedding, it would have been two years since I first emailed her. And truly though, I can't wait!! I know it's going to be ultra fantabulousness!! Woot woot!

I'm been really getting into the idea of getting wedding decorations that you can use for the home afterwards. Another gem that I found!

swanky pad

Our apartment is going through a major makeover at the moment. My sister has taken on the project of turning it from one that looks like uni student budget accomodation into a classy looking cosy home. Out goes my $30 bookshelf that looks like a I got it from the $2 store to be replaced with a $75 bookshelf that looks like it's $300. From Ebay, of course. :) We have my wedding bouquet of Australian florals sitting on the dining table in our usually empty flower vase. I think we're going to make it a regular thing now. The flowers were crazily cheap and last for ages!! We're down to our last two flowers now and it's been a more than a month after the registration!. And photoframes with beautiful photos of the family. Scented candles on the mantlepiece. Room fragrance to make the apartment feel pretty. Sigh... it really feels like a home now and what can I say, I love it!
